Soft domme

by Taylor Silk

Taylor Silk is an artist whose work and practice thrive in the “grey zones” where social norms, laws, and morality intertwine and clash. An accidental troublemaker—whether at school, work, or in her personal life—Silk channels this rebellious energy into a playful yet provocative practice that challenges perceptions and authority.

Fascinated by the cultural artefacts of old-school pornography and vintage photography, Silk reclaims and reframes these often-dismissed relics, exploring themes of power, sexuality, and agency. For Silk, the narratives surrounding women in these spaces hold immense, intimate, and often overlooked power—subverting traditional dynamics and opening up conversations about gender and representation.

A vibrant influence in Silk's practice comes from the bold and sensual works of Henri Matisse, whose colourful nudes inspire both form and intent. Silk’s work occupies a space that’s unapologetically raw, intimate, and colourful, where beauty and confrontation coexist.
